All courses are held at our training ground in Xizhi and finish with the official test on site (the commercial-car test is held at the Keelung Motor Vehicles Office). Course fees follow the tariff approved by the Highway Bureau and differ for weekday / weekend classes and manual / automatic cars — please ask us for a current quote.
Ordinary small car (普通小型車) — 35-day course
- Requirements
- Age 18 or over; health check passed; ARC with at least 6 months of stay for foreign nationals.
- Duration
- 35 days — 24 classroom sessions and 32 driving sessions of 50 minutes. Missing more than one third of the sessions means you cannot graduate.
- Tests
- Computerised written test (traffic rules), closed-course test and road test — all on the school's dates and grounds, with Motor Vehicles Office examiners.
- Lesson times
- Fixed daily slot chosen at enrolment, from 06:10 to 21:00 (17 slots of 50 minutes). Weekday and weekend classes.
- Training items
- Reversing into a garage, parallel parking, S-curve, hill stop and start, intersections / railway crossing / pedestrian crossing, straight-line acceleration and gear test, on-road driving on the official test routes.

Large heavy motorcycle (大型重型機車, yellow / red plate)
- Requirements
- Age 20 or over; ordinary heavy-motorcycle (scooter) licence held for at least one year; health check passed.
- Schedule
- Register and hand in documents by Wednesday noon; course starts every Friday; road test on the Thursday of the following week (meet at the school at 12:00).
- Duration
- 15 hours of classroom lessons and 28 hours of riding practice over seven days.
- Time slots
- 07:00–08:40 / 08:40–10:20 / 10:20–12:00 / 13:00–14:20 / 14:20–16:00 / 16:00–17:40 / 17:40–19:20 / 19:20–21:00
- Training items
- Mounting and starting, straight-line balance, riding in a circle, intersection and zebra crossing, railway crossing, riding on an incline, gear changing and braking.
Ordinary heavy motorcycle / scooter (普通重型機車, white plate)
- Requirements
- Age 18 or over; health check passed (waived if you passed a car licence within the last year — bring your car licence). Since 3 May 2021 car-licence holders must also sit the written test.
- Schedule
- Register by Wednesday noon; Thursday 12:30–17:40 classroom lessons (6-hour road-safety course, compulsory before riding); Friday riding practice starts; written test in the morning and road test in the afternoon on the following Thursday (meet at the school at 09:30 with your ID card).
- Duration
- 6 hours of classroom lessons and 10 hours of riding practice over three days.
- Friday time slots
- 08:00–09:40 / 09:40–11:20 / 13:20–15:00 / 15:00–16:40 / 16:40–18:20 / 18:20–20:00
- Training items
- Starting and straight-line balance, zebra crossing and consecutive left turns, traffic signals and two-stage left turn, lane change, 90-degree turns, railway crossing.
Commercial small-car licence upgrade (職業小型車)
- Requirements
- Age 20 to 65; ordinary small-car licence held for at least three months (a manual-transmission licence is required for the professional licence); health check passed.
- Schedule
- Register by Wednesday noon; course starts every Friday; written test (vehicle mechanics) in the morning and road test in the afternoon every Thursday at the Keelung Motor Vehicles Office (meet at the main gate at 09:50 with your ID card and car licence).
- Duration
- 13 classroom sessions and 10 driving sessions over seven days.

Road-driving lessons for licence holders (道路駕駛訓練班)
- For whom
- Anyone who already holds a car licence but feels nervous about driving in traffic, at night, on the motorway or on mountain roads.
- Format
- One-to-one with an instructor in a school car (manual or automatic). Lessons are 50 minutes and booked in units of two. Time bands: 09:00–12:00, 14:00–17:00, 18:00–21:00.
- Programme
- Stage 1: basics and city driving; Stage 2: lane changes, suburban roads, expressways; Stage 3: night driving, motorway, breakdown handling, mountain roads. The content is adapted to what you want to practise.
